The study was carried out by ISOC Québec in partnership with the "Régie du cinéma du Québec" (RCQ) which, since 1983, has governed what young Québecois may see on film and television. The study, the first in Québec of this scope, constitutes a comprehensive global analysis of the tools and approaches which the private sector, governments, and civil organizations have thus far developed in this regard, including age-authentication programs and the, thus far limited, implementation of the Internet Content Rating Association (ICRA) coding of websites. The report notes the recent decision by Microsoft to support ICRA standards.
The report will be publically presented on 12 & 14 Feb at meetings to which the press and organizations concerned with the protection of youth have been invited.
